Transforming Lives Through Gentle Touch

I have been an Occupational Therapist working in the pediatric world for 18 years (22 years overall). Throughout all these years, I have always had a deep love for working with infants and children. Through my time in outpatient pediatrics, school-based therapy and working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, I developed skills that allow me to nurture and assist with optimal development of all the babies and children that I work/have worked with. Once I learned Craniosacral Therapy techniques for adults, infants and children, I was hooked! As I learned and developed my skills, I envisioned a way to reach even more infants, children and adults through what has now become Kern Infant Craniosacral Therapy. Please join me on this journey to touch and transform the lives of babies and their families in the Bakersfield and Lake Isabella area!

Craniosacral Therapy, Infant Massage

I graduated from Marquette University with a bachelor’s degree in Theology. I continued my education at Washington University in St. Louis Medical School where I earned my Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. I have worked in many areas in the Occupational Therapy world, but always come back to pediatrics as my one true love. While working in the neonatal intensive care unit, I learned many skills including craniosacral therapy in addition to infant massage and feeding therapy. My drive to help infants is a true passion of mine!

I have been an Occupational Therapist for 23 years and have learned many things along the way. I was trained at Beames CST Training Center and earned the qualification of Craniosacral Therapist (CST) and Infant Craniosacral Therapist (ICST). I also am certified in Neonatal Touch and Massage Therapy (NTMTC). I have advanced practice certification in the areas Physical Agent/Modalities, Hand Therapy, and Swallowing Assessment, Evaluation or Intervention from Occupational Therapy Board of California. Additionally, I am a Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist (I & II).

Outside of work, I have been happily married to my husband Craig for 26 years and we have 3 teenage boys. I love to bake, camp and spend time with our two dogs, Bailey and Ozzy.

How I got Started

My clinic was born out of a passion that started many years ago to treat and work with infants and children. I want infants to develop and grow with the most optimal positioning they can. I recognize the need for a patient-centered approach to wellness, leading me to establish a place where comprehensive care and compassion converge for all people. The better a client feels, the better the family will feel.

My Patient-Centric Approach

At the heart of my clinic, is my unwavering commitment to our babies and their families. I believe in treating the whole person, not just the symptoms that are presented, fostering a healing environment that nurtures all people on a journey to wellness.
